watercolour painting and scrapbooking

They wanted to do more painting today! So I got out the water colours, having run out of suitable materials for any other sort of paint (or indeed any other sort of paint), only to find there was no paper!
I managed to find three pieces that were ok and sent out for an emergency roll of lining paper, which arrived just as they were getting restless to start the next one.

I gave them about A2 size, ready soaked, twice, and some Stockmar watercolours, red, yellow and blue, in small jars, also some IKEA watercolours, which come in little pots, which are also quite good and vivid.

After a brief interlude on the computers, they got out their scrapbooks and did several pages, including may stickers, notably Fergus's sea creatures one, with sea background.

Joy did several pages in her new scrapbook, too, but she was being particularly horrid to me at this time, not sure what this is all about.

We had to re-read 2 chapters of LOTR tonight after daddy had read these to Fergus, as Joy and I wanted to catch up (why does he always do this? We have been reading it all week, why would we not mind missing 2 chapters? I'm hiding it next weekend). So he was a bit fed up, but he could not tell us anything of what had happened in the story, so I thought it wouldn't do him much harm to recap!

In theory we have been invited to go and stay in Amsterdam, so in theory we can go any time. I must get round to organising this, just as soon as I've stopped the rain from pouring into the house from all angles- hopefully Bob is coming tomorow, that's Bob the builder, of course.

Blimey, I leave your blog for 2 minutes and all this creative stuff happens! You're done loads.

It's good that Joy feels safe enough to be horrid to you. Most children don't feel so safe with their parents, I think. Whether that's a consoling thought or not, I don't know!

We're having trouble with lots of rain coming in too. I don't know if it's particularly wet rain or what.

Gill: It is a bit consoling, I think. I think I'm dealing with it better now by not reacting, and not being horrid to her helps ;-)

Quaballah & Louise: Thanks for tagging me- I'm still trying to think of something weird enough ;-)

Jan: Hope you get your rain problem sorted out before it gets out of control! Hopefully ours will be geting fixed tomorrow. I think it is wetter than usual, yes ;-)
