Imbolc

If Candlemas Day is bright and clear,
there'll be two winters in the year.

Well, it wasn't bright and clear, but it was warm enough to potter about outside with the rabbits, looking at snowdrops. The children were more reluctant, saying it was horrid outside- well it was quite foggy and soggy. So, we've hardly had one winter, let alone two. So if that's it then, no snow?
We have snowdrops. And all sorts of other bulbs are starting to appear.
I did a bit of clearing up, with Imbolc in mind: sweeping away the winter cobwebs and all that. Actually I really needed to clean up after the tiling chaos. I finally finished the part I had started and Bob said it looked quite professional. Actually, when I came to re-grout the utility room, I found the tiles in there were way more uneven than mine. And I paid someone to put those down!

Yes, Bob has come back and he has finally worked out what it making the rain come in: I massive hole in the roofing felt where someone has fallen through and tiled over (it's jinxed that roof!), and the walls need pointing. I guess it was too wet to see it properly before, but it's obvious, so obvious.

Imbolc is defined as a cross-quarter day midway between the winter solstice (Yule) and the spring equinox (Ostara).
